Toilet Repair and Installation
Many customers are quite certain that they are able to install a toilet by themselves. However, part way through the process they discover that installing a toilet is not only difficult but also time consuming, especially if you are unfamiliar with the process. If it is an older toilet that is being replaced there is likely some additional plumbing work preparation that is necessary before the replacement toilet can be installed correctly.
The toilet is generally not given a lot of respect until it stops working, or clogs, or develops a crack and starts leaking. It does not take long for an out of order toilet to command a lot of respect and attention.
Good plumbers know exactly what goes wrong with toilets and they have the tools and experience to get the job done well and quickly. Sometimes the repair is fairly easy such as a new flapper valve or float assembly.
The process of replacing a toilet can be somewhat complicated and involve many steps and details in order to ensure the new toilet is installed correctly, operates properly and of course is comfortable.
The easy part of replacing a toilet is removing the old one. Then it takes a trained eye and skillful experience to know if modifications of the floor base and plumbing will need to be modified to ensure the toilet can be securely mounted and sealed to be leak and odor free when the new toilet is in position.
Once the toilet is secured into place, and the water supply line is connected, the plumber will then ensure that the flapper valve seats properly and the float shutoff is properly adjusted to make sure the tank water level is correct when the infill water is shut off.
