A leaking faucet can waste a surprising amount of water and also unnecessarily increase your water bill.

If the pipe or faucet leak is getting water inside a wall then that needs to be repaired right away. Moisture at the base of a wall that has plumbing pipes inside of it, like behind a sink, can cause water damage including black mold. It is very important to get that leak repaired as soon as possible to minimize further damage.
